We proudly operate in Kentucky, a state that supports homeschooling through a flexible legal pathway. If you’re new to homeschooling or just exploring your options, here’s a simplified overview of Kentucky’s current laws and how GHSE fits into it.
In Kentucky, parents are considered the official school administrators of their homeschool.
That means families—not GHSE—handle all state-required documentation. Parents are responsible for:
Submitting the Letter of Intent to their local school district each academic year
Maintaining attendance records (at least 185 instructional days)
Keeping student progress and report cards on file
Ensuring core subjects are taught, as required by the state
GHSE is an enrichment and support program, not a school of record. We provide instruction, curriculum support, and guided learning days, but we do not file paperwork with the state on behalf of any student.
Our role is to partner with you, encourage your student’s growth, and make your homeschool experience more structured and enjoyable—while you continue to oversee the legal side of your homeschool.
